Vera Gheno will focus on issues of language and gender and on the debates they have generated in Italy over the past years: from linguistic sexism to the role and visibility of women, and then to the representation of non-binary identities. Her talk will discuss the notion of language  inclusivity and explore the idea of a “braod language”, in Italian and in connection to  other languages. The event has been sponsored by the Institute of Italian Culture in Edinburgh and by SIS.
